Job Title: Workforce Scheduler (16 months contract)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9-5 (flexible), occasional overtime, evenings and weekends

Reports to: Scheduling Manager

Overview of the Position:

The Workforce Scheduler is accountable for the publication of staff work schedules. This position ensures staff schedules meet operational needs while complying with Playground policies and procedures as well as employee availability. With your communication and interpersonal skills, you will consult with and provide support to managers to ensure scheduling and timekeeping data in CSE (Casino Schedule Ease) is up to date and accurate in order to ensure staff is scheduled and paid accurately.

Responsibilities:

  • Input/update/remove employee information/availabilities in scheduling program.
  • Maintain staff schedules in accordance with availability and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate, approve/deny vacation requests.
  • Prepare, create and post weekly schedules for all designated departments based on business needs (occupancy, events, holidays and other factors) and in collaboration with department heads.
  • Communicate relevant information to all stakeholders in a timely manner; ensure that they are aware of any scheduling issues or challenges before they arise and potentially impact operations.
  • Schedule trainings and meetings as required.
  • Respond to comments and inquiries from employees and managers in a timely and respectful manner
  • Collect, verify and enter employee time sheet data and bonuses.
  • Maintain all Poker badges with KGC to ensure all permits are up to date.
  • Upon departure of a team member, fill the immediate void in collaboration with the department head. Redistribute schedules in the department and submit a personnel requisition form to our Recruitment Specialist in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills (English and French).
  • Basic poker knowledge is required.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary and fast-paced environment.
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including conflict resolution and people management skills.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and online platforms.
  • Past experience with online scheduling software is required.
